I
really thought I would call it a night and prop up everything that hurts. I fell the other day and on an old lady,
there is a lot that hurts. I do not bounce
like I used to. My body is more than
willing, but my thoughts keep going round.
As a writer there are many things in life I see, hear and live that
might inspire a fictional story. More
and more I hear of such tragic, painful, depressing, oppressing, and unfair
instances of bullying.
This
is not just a topic, this is a disease.
It is real. It causes pain and
damage. It hurts all involved. We may think of the victim of the bullying,
but what about the bully? Are they not a
victim too to their own ignorance and cruel actions? When a person goes out of their way to be
cruel and demean another, it may make them feel superior, but are they better
for it, or does it really reveal the deficiency in their own characters to be
the kind of person who would do such a thing?
Does it show how deficient their own thought processes are to be unable
to have compassion, understanding or just common decency?
What is disease? Disease
A disease
is an abnormal condition affecting the body of an organism. It is often construed to be a medical
condition associated with specific symptoms and signs. It may
be caused by external factors, such as infectious disease,
or it may be caused by internal dysfunctions, such as autoimmune diseases.
In humans, "disease" is often used more broadly to refer to any
condition that causes pain, dysfunction,
distress,
social problems, or death
to the person afflicted, or similar problems for those in contact with the
person. In this broader sense, it sometimes includes injuries, disabilities, disorders,
syndromes, infections, isolated symptoms, deviant behaviors, and atypical variations of structure and function, while
in other contexts and for other purposes these may be considered
distinguishable categories. Diseases usually affect people not only physically,
but also emotionally, as contracting and living with many diseases can alter
one's perspective on life, and their personality.
Diseases can also be classified
as communicable and non-communicable disease.
I
typed in the search and this is what I found.
When we talk about an abnormal condition we could well see the bully in
this light. They are not the normal even
if the are the loudest or often one who is doing all of the talking. It is the way of the bully to assert their
power or influence over others and in the process do detrimental things. Are there specific symptoms and
signs???? I think there are without a
doubt. A bully tries to gain control and
in the process diminish those around them.
They may even act like a friend while slowly degrading and causing harm
to those who trust or follow them.

Disease has symptoms and signs. Does a person have to use cruel or derogatory
remarks to another to elevate their own self worth? Is it fun to ridicule or demean another? What about how another person feels??? Is it
a consideration at all? Do you do things
that hurt others just because you can?
You might be a bully. Is it a
disease? Are you diseased and unable to
control your actions? Are you unable to
control your desire to inflict harm to another?

We may never know
how many suicides are a result of bullies and their actions. There may and often are many other factors
involved, but who knows if the bully was the last straw or factor that made the
difference to life and death….and for what?
One person could hurt another so much that…… If you have bullied another, are you proud of
the hurt you inflicted? Does it show you
superior intellegence to be cruel and inflict harm to another? Does it really show a lack of your own self
worth if you have to try to hurt another to increase your own status? Is it not the bully that is the defective or
deficient person who needs to be cruel and hurt others to improve their own
selfworth?

Bullying can be contagious.
They tend to be loud and want to lead the crowd. They tend to be ones that jump up and do not
stop to consider consequences or results of their own actions or words. They do not care. The greater the affects, the greater their
satisfaction. They feed off of misery,
and in that action they show their own miserable core. That shows their deviant behaviors, and atypical variations of structure and function.
It is time we saw
bully for what they really are. It is
time we take a look at peer pressure and realize the consequences it can have.
Any condition
that causes pain, dysfunction,
distress,
social problems, or death
to the person afflicted, or similar problems for those in contact with the person. How can you not realize that an action such
as a bully inflicts on others is anyting less than painful, causing dysfyunction
distress and social problemns as they spew forth their messages. What ever the consequences to this tactic are
involveld I do not know the legal
ramifications but I think there should be something that holds contibuting
factors to account. If you are proud
enough to bully you should be ready to defend your abuse or suffer consequences
for your actions.
One of the short stories is the collection of
short stories I wrote called A Tale to Tell deals with peer pressure. A person might do things they never would do
to be accepted and later find out that acceptance was a sham. It was a tactic of a bully to push another to
do something offensive to gain acceptance….at what cost. The Midnight Hour is about a supposedly
haunted cememtary. Who knows what lurks
in the darkness of the Midnight Hour?
It only takes a
moment to say something nice and pass a good thought on to others. We may become angry but words do have power
so mind what we say. We have a chance to
do something special each and every day we are alive or….we can just not
care. Either way please do not be a
Bully. Do not spread the disease of
hurt and harm. Take a good thought and
pass it on and someday it will come back to you.
